Each unit was planned around essential daily routines compact but functional living and dining areas, bedrooms sized for real family use, and kitchens positioned for easy access without taking up unnecessary space. The goal was to avoid wasted square footage while still giving each family a livable, comfortable home.

Ventilation and natural light were major priorities throughout the design. Worker housing often suffers from poor airflow due to dense layouts, so window placement and unit orientation were carefully planned to keep interiors cool and well-lit for most of the day an important factor for comfort and health in Bangladesh’s climate.

Material choices focused on durability and low maintenance, since worker housing sees continuous daily use across multiple households. Finishes were selected to hold up well over time without requiring frequent repairs, keeping long-term costs manageable for the property.

Shared and outdoor spaces around the housing blocks were planned to give residents access to fresh air and open areas outside their units small additions that make a meaningful difference in quality of life for people living in compact housing.
