Chakar School School Interior Design for Learning Spaces

Intros Space designed the interior for Chakar School, an educational facility built around one core priority: creating spaces where children feel safe, comfortable, and motivated to learn. The brief focused on practical, child-friendly design rather than purely decorative interiors.

Classroom layouts were planned with flexibility in mind flexible seating arrangements that can shift between traditional row-based teaching and group activity setups, giving teachers room to adapt their approach without being limited by fixed furniture placement.

Natural lighting and ventilation were prioritized throughout, since well-lit, airy classrooms have a direct impact on student focus and comfort, especially important in Bangladesh’s climate where poorly ventilated rooms can quickly become uncomfortable during school hours.

Open activity zones were included between classroom blocks, giving students space for movement and informal learning outside the rigid structure of a classroom areas that double as gathering spaces during breaks and small group activities.

Corridors and circulation paths were designed wide and clearly defined, both for everyday movement between classes and for safety during emergency situations, which is a key consideration for any institutional space housing children.

Material choices throughout focused on durability and safety surfaces and finishes that can handle daily wear from student activity while remaining easy to clean and maintain, an important practical consideration for schools operating on tight maintenance budgets.

Faculty zones were kept simple but comfortable, giving teachers a functional space to prepare and rest between classes, separate from the high-activity student areas.
